Saxa Vord's Restaurant And Lounge Bar
The restaurant and bar will re-open on the 24th of May until the start of September. Please contact us for opening times.
Saxa Vord and Unst Regeneration Growers Enterprise (URGE) were winners in the Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards 2011 - 'Best Supplier Partnership' category, this builds on our short listing last year for the Dining Out Experience Tourist Award. We have a close working relationship with a number of local suppliers (Sonny Priest's 'Valhalla Brewery', Bobby's Bus Shelter Fudge and Foords Chocolates), but our partnership with URGE, the UK's most northerly market garden is key to the high quality meals that are served in our seasonal restaurant. Please see www.unstmarketgardens.shetland.co.uk.
The lounge bar is also a venue for live music - and especially traditional music - performed by islanders, all making for a really relaxed and special atmosphere.

We all had a wonderful time with you. The accommodation was first class. - Tulloch April 2011
All in all Saxa Vord is a very attractive facility. The staff are young and inexperienced, but make a real effort to be friendly and helpful, so it comes across as fresh and innocent, which adds to the charm. - Crowter July 2011
Overall extremely impressed with the new management and child-friendly restaurant. - Towans August 2011
