Saxa Vord's Restaurant And Lounge Bar
When we opened our restaurant in May 2007 we were delighted at the response from resident guests, day visitors to the island and Shetland locals alike, so much so that for 2008 we are expanding.
Larger private parties can now be catered for in their own room: The Officers’ Mess.
Meanwhile, the Sergeants’ Mess Lounge Bar is expanding into the old restaurant area, giving us the space that we need to enable guests to sit down and enjoy a delicious bar meal, drink and chat in comfort. The lounge bar is also a venue for live music - and especially traditional music - performed by islanders, all making for a really relaxed and special atmosphere.
The Sergeants’ Mess Lounge Bar

Unst is home to the Valhalla Brewery, makers of the excellent Auld Rock, Island Bere, White Wife, Old Scatness, Sjolmet Stout and Simmer Dim beers, and Valhalla's owner, Sonny Priest, also runs Saxa Vord’s Sergeants’ Mess Lounge Bar. His team will make you very welcome and will be delighted to serve you a Valhalla beer - or any of the other beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks on offer.
